Started by an optician who was tired of saying no
In 2010, a recurring problem became impossible to ignore. Week after week, family members would ask the same question: “My mum can’t get out of the house — can you come to us?” For most community opticians, the answer was no.
That year, HomeSight became an NHS-contracted domiciliary provider, bringing eye care directly to patients in their own homes. What began with a small number of home visits has grown into a team of forty clinicians and care coordinators serving Greater London, the Home Counties, and the wider South East.
The mission remains unchanged: essential eye care delivered at the kitchen table, free at the point of use for those who qualify under NHS criteria.
